Macie turned one on June 10th. She had such a fun day! It all started out at work when Angie brought in a "Birthday Girl" balloon and candy necklaces. Macie was LOVING hers. It took her awhile to find it because when it came out of her mouth, she kept looking down her shirt to find it. She thought that was so cool!
She would climb up on this tiny chair and get her balloon. That's safe, right?
After work, we came home and got ready for her birthday party! She was loving these balloons. They made a good little seat for her. She kept sitting on them. Luckily none of them popped. She may not have liked it as much.
We got Macie this little couch. We have one at work and she'll just go lounge on it, so she was really liking her own. I think these necklaces were one of my best ideas. Again, probably not that safe, but she LOVES them. She opened them and just started putting them on. She kept them on the whole time until we took them off for cake.
Dustin's mom got her this Little Mermaid car thing. It makes some great noises. :) Dustin said it's a toy that can stay in her room. :) She loves it, too. She's good at hitting the horn and standing up on it, obviously.
Cake time! She was a little hesitant at first, but eventually dug in a little bit.

We had SO much fun for Macie's birthday. Thanks everyone who made it fun for all of us. We just love Macie so much! I know people always say it's crazy how fast they grow. It really is. A little update:
1- Macie is 18 lbs. (not quite ready for a forward facing carseat)
2- Her height is in the 79th percentile, her head in the 87th, and her weight in the 17th. She's a little skinny squirt, but she eats like her mom. She had two pieces of pizza the other day for dinner!
3 - She's been walking for two months now, and I think she's got it mostly mastered.
4 - She goes to sleep tired, but awake, and most often sleeps through the night.

I love, love, love the pictures of your family and the one of Macie in the flowers! I am glad you are having fun, even if it is without us :) Keep up with the updates on Macie, when you look back, you will be amazed at how fast those little bugs grow! Camille
Happy Birthday Macie! It looks like she loved her birthday! The first year goes by SOOO fast! She is adorable. I wish we were closer! I miss you guys!
I'm sooooo sad I missed it, but glad you had fun. We'll have to celebrate it again when we see you. Love the pics.
