Our Recently Acquired Hobby!

So, after Dustin and I got our tax return, he talked me into getting ourselves a little treat. Ok, so he didn't really have to try that hard. He got us two snowmachines. I must say it has been so much fun so far. The first time we actually went on a real ride up Logan canyon, I was so sore for three days, and I was a little bitter about the whole purchase. After that, it's been good.


This last weekend my sister, Kristy, invited us to go to the sinks with her family. It turned out to be tons of fun. It was such a gorgeous day! Skyler and Miranda (Dustin's little brother and his wife) came up with us too, and I think they had a good time. Skyler and Dustin had good times snowboarding down some big hills.


We went on a trail back up in there and could actually see the north end of Bear Lake. It was so cool. Took me back to the good 'ol days when I was little and the family would go to the north end of Bear Lake (minus the snow).





We have had so much fun so far, and we've seen some pretty amazing views. It's been nice to be out in the "winter woods" with Dustin because it's his favorite thing ever. I can really see why.

Campout!

This last weekend, Dustin decided to go to a ranger station in Malad, Idaho. He decided Thursday night, and we went on Friday. We got there Friday night and hiked in to the cabin. It wasn't too bad of a hike. It was a gradual slope up for about half a mile. That's it. It took awhile to get a fire started, so we hung out most of the night in our warm clothes, but once we got things warmed up, it was a good time.

This sleeping bag is known as "Big Bertha". You can't really tell, but the sleeping bag is bigger than a king size bed. It was so cozy and kept us warm.


Saturday morning, Dustin and I grabbed our snowshoes and went for a short little hike. It was such a gorgeous day. Dustin is trying to talk me into getting a snow machine with our tax return. Hmmm....with views like this? We'll see.




It was so much fun, but it was nice to get home and get Macie in the tub. She's so cute!


Macie is just getting bigger every day. She has two teeth now and stands all by herself. We are wondering if she said dog the other day, but I'm not sure. She is so tall, but still pretty skinny and petite. She's just growing so fast, so we are enjoying every minute of it!

Baby Tag

1- Where were you when you found out? In the bathroom. :) It was our FHE "activity" to take the test.
2- Who did you first tell? Dustin of course. Then Celeste.
3- Did you find out the sex of the baby? Yeah. Neither Dustin or I were about to wait.
4- Did you have morning sickness? Not too bad. I only threw up a few times. I would mostly just sit and breathe and wait for it to pass.
5- How much weight did you gain? I think 20-25 pounds in the norm. Not even close. I think I gained like 35 lbs.
6- Did you get any stretch marks? Yeah. I didn't think I did on my belly til I saw underneath where I couldn't see before. :(
7- Did you have any cravings? Not that I can think of. More stuff I couldn't eat. Wheat bread, cafe rio, things like that.
8- Were there any complications? No.
9- When and where did you go into labor? We had been alseep for about an hour and my water broke. It woke me up. It took me awhile to wake Dustin up. He was a little delirious.
10- Did your water break? Yesh.
11- Who drove to the hospital? Dustin
12- Who was in the room for the birth? Dustin, the doctor, and the nurses.
13- Was the baby born early or late? Two days early.
14- How long were you in labor for? My water broke just after 11:00 PM and I had Macie at 5:20 AM.
15- Did you have any drugs for the pain? Epidural. It was beautiful.
16- Natural or C-Section? Natural
17- What was your first reaction after birth? I was thinking, "That's it? That was easy!" I really thought it was going to take longer, but I only had to push twice.
18- How big was the baby? 7 lbs 9 oz
19- Date and time of birth? June 10th, 5:23 AM.
20- Baby's name? Macie Lourene Hansen
21- Does the name have any significant meaning? Lourene, after my mom.
22- Did the baby have any complications? No
23- How old is the baby today? Almost 8 months. CRAZY!
24- What kind of temperament has the baby had so far? She is so happy.
25- Would you change anything about it? I would have cleaned out my car before. I can't remember what was in the back seat, but when the nurse came out to check the car seat, I was SO embarrassed, it was a mess!

Snowshoeing!!!

For Christmas, Dustin got me my own pair of snowshoes, snowpants, and boots.  We decided to try them out since we were finally home for a weekend.  We got all bundled up and went up Logan canyon.

It was tons of fun, and I actually didn't pass out!  Yes, I hiked up a hill without dying.  Macie loved just looking out at the snow and trees.  It was a good time, and I actually look forward to doing it again.  I loved being able to be together with my little family. :)

6 Months Old!

I need to get pictures of Christmas up, but in the meantime, here are Macie's 6 month pictures. It was so much fun getting to do pictures again. This could be one of my favorite pasttimes! :)

What's new???

Well, not a lot has been going on with us lately.  Macie and I are just working, and Dustin is working and going to school.  This week is finals, so Dustin will have a break and hopefully get over his sickness.  He's been sick now for awhile, and just can't seem to get better.  Luckily for me, I was brave and got a flu shot a few weeks ago, so I'm doing good.  :)  Dustin gets his next week with Macie.  Anyway, here are just a few pictures to keep you all updated on how cute Macie is.  :)  She will be six months on Wednesday, and she's sitting up and eating baby food.  Here are a couple pictures of her actually smiling.  It's rough getting these ones.  Don't mind her hair in all these pictures.  Dustin kindly pointed out that she looks like a Dr. Suess character.

This is her first pony tail.  Dustin kept begging me to try it, but I just hadn't ever had the ambition.  I left her home from work one day, and I came home and Dustin had done her hair in pig tails.  She's lacking hair on one side, so we re-did it and just put it in one pony on top of her head.  I must say, I'm a fan.

Macie has her daddy's mouth.  That's for sure.  Hopefully she'll grow up and get his big beautiful smile, but for now she just uses it to shove stuff in.  She gets really mad when she can't get the entire baby wipe container in her mouth.  Needless to say, I have to watch what she gets her hands on.

This would be Angie's doing at work.  We go through lots of post-its at work.  Macie is really good at getting herself around in this little walker.  Angie thinks she is really good at delivering notes.  

This is Macie's very first Aggie basketball game.  Her and daddy were twinners.  She looked so cute!

And here is Macie mastering the piano.  She likes being able to make loud sounds.

Anyway, not a ton going on with us, but now that school is wrapping up for the semester and Christmas parties are coming, we'll be going and going.  I love this season, and I hope everyone has a good time with family and friends!
